The objective of this class is to give the women of Colorado a fighting chance using real issues and training materials. This is a pilot course and will be detailed to the greatest extent possible in making this course not only the most intense but most usable with the most up to date materials and knowledge based on the various self-defense issues especially directed toward the women of Colorado.
As a note of concern with Colorado’s growth rate:
Times are changing with a radical break down of the social system. An example is an increase in home invasions. Denver, for as a demonstration, crime rates remained relatively flat between 2017 and 2018 — though violent crime, which includes homicides, rapes, and robberies are climbing.
The future of the rural areas appears to be of interest as in an increase in crime relative to people or activities characterized as being disreputable and often criminal. Time and distance as related to the rural areas make home invasions a better target of unsavory opportunists of our time. Denver alone is experiencing drug and narcotics violations and illegal possession of weapons increasing, DPD reported.
The freeways and streets are experiencing an increase in hostile drivers who exhibit a very dangerous attitude toward the unsuspecting driver.
Factoring in the state’s population growth, the homicide rate increased 6.3 percent per 100,000 residents in 2016 and continues to grow, “the CBI reported.”
Some Colorado lawmakers, police, and legal experts partly blame the marijuana industry, claiming that it has lured transients and criminals to the state. Others point to a dramatic increase in the number of cars stolen to commit other crimes or to ship to Mexico. Increases in crime are often a reflection of economic conditions, said Steve Davis, spokesman for the Lakewood Police Department.
Women are attacked indiscriminately more often than men when the time involves general routine service such as shopping, going to or leaving work, traveling city to city, State to State or just being at home alone especially at night.
For those reasons of a woman’s various, to include times not mentioned, Pathway Evolution’s has developed this course for the female only. The idea is to help the woman to create a need for understanding and applying the senses as related to situational awareness. Most attacks occur to the unsuspecting, those person’s not paying attention to their surroundings as a result of being distracted with a cell phone call or texting or domestic issues, and tight schedules, etc. and with that in mind, this course will have considerable focus on the person’s situational awareness using those natural senses of which one is born with.
This is an intense course with intense questions and answers.
Probably a most prudent aspect of this Women’s only class will be the issue of safety should you be armed, regardless of the choice of defensive weapons be it a gun, knife, ball bat, hammer, vehicle, or whatever is available to fight off a violator of your person. Attacks can come from anywhere in one’s travels, and it isn’t necessarily as a result of where you might be, but whether or not you are in tune with your surroundings and your level of situational awareness. The one thing that we will not dwell on is that one ‘sage’ piece of advice that emanates from many mouths either in selling insurance through to any one of many learning evolutions and that is the axiom of, “It’s not a matter of if, but when.” There is a specific reason for that which in this class, will explain in detail.
Now, should you as a woman be in a situation where you might have to use some sort of defensive measure to stave off unwanted hostile contact, we will dwell with the one most important aspect of self-defense. Such defensive action that without rhyme or reason could award you with a forty to life in prison. It is all depending on the attitude of the first responder in law enforcement or most likely the District Attorney of whatever jurisdiction you might have an occurrence in. We will dwell on the most important of issues of your encounter best described as “The Law of Self Defense.”
You will find security in the phrase, “Silence is Golden.”
As in any self-defense situation, you not only need a way or method of defending yourself against physical assault, you most assuredly need to have a way to assert yourself as in the legal sense of the issue of self-defense, either in criminal court or civil court. Remember this: “More people talk themselves into jail than out of jail!”
Also, understand that this class will delve into the mechanics of the handgun either, a revolver or semi-automatic pistol. You, as a woman, need to know and understand how your choice of firearm functions from the holster to presentation to tripping the trigger. What equipment you need and how to best conceal your firearm. How to hit the target where it counts and to do so in as short a time as possible with accuracy plus, are you able down-scale an event and make a retreat without injuring or killing somebody! de-escalation is always the first option to be considered should time and distance be in your favor. There is nothing wrong but most rewarding if you can retreat and not be hurt or cause injury to another.
So, now is the time to sign up and take the ride that could save your life or the life of another, such as a family member or a person in peril.
